Luddites Unite!

I have a confession to make.  I am a bit of a luddite at heart, very slow to adapt to any sort of new technology.  When I first heard about ChatGBT my response was a typical eye roll along with “sure, what do we need that for?”

But running a small business means having to become au fait with certain technologies; Instagram and hashtags, facebook and metasuite(grrr!), shopify and SEO, to name but a few.  So in the spirit of entrepreneurship, when I discovered that Shopify is now using ChatGBT to help users write product descriptions, I thought I’d give it a go.

Well, let me tell you something, feeling vindicated is a wonderful thing!

In order to get ChatGBT to write your product description you are asked to input keywords.  So I stuck in ‘Mug’, ‘Dryrobe’ and ‘best seller’ and hit the generate text button.  Here’s what I got back…

The All Dry Robe and No Knickers Mug                   (yep that’s what it is)

 is our best-selling mug,                                            (all good so far)

made from durable dryrobe fabric.                           (Eh, what now?)

From one human to another human, let me assure you that ALL my products are ceramic.  Yes, they are durable but this is because they are made from stoneware clay, and the only dryrobe fabric in sight will be on the swimmer holding the mug!!

And my best selling 'All Dryrobe and no Knickers' ceramic mug does make a great gift for a swim friend - human or robot!
